I have not been the the Cedar Rail in years. We stopped in this weekend when passing through Harriston. The Mrs and I both ordered poutines. They were mediocre at best. The fries were not fresh cut like they said, they looked like frozen fries from a bag that you would get at the grocery store. The gravy was cold and jelly like. Not much cheese. Overall not very impressed. They have gone down hill big time from years back

Charges $10 for Burgers and Fries. Over promises (world's best) and underdelivers (barely edible burger).
Huge bun, tiny burger made with the cheapest possible patty. It's not the 5-ounce burger that you pay for, that's for sure.
Would not repeat. -

Greasssssssssssy
I get a craving for deep fryer once in a while so I'm usually looking for greasy comfort food when I do eat deep fryer. But this....this took greasy to a whole new level. I had a burger and a side of battered mushrooms:
The burger (was atleast edible) but the patty was TINY - especially compared to the enormous doughy in cooked bun, way too much mayo, took forever.
The mushrooms: this is a deep fryer favourite for me, I don't usually eat deep fryer - but when I do its battered mushrooms. If you like battered mushrooms do yourself a favour and don't ever order them here. I have never not finished an order of mushrooms (EVER) and then I went to the cedar rail. I ate about 2 before I decided I just couldn't do it. It's like they were battered in lard then deep fried in lard and then rolled in lard again. It was gross and it has unfortunately turned me off battered mushrooms for the foreseeable future.
Prices were steep for how less than mediocre the food was. Would've been money ahead and less grossed out going to a real restaurant for a burg and some fried food and then would've had a decent place to sit while enjoying a shorter wait and actual service -

Stopped for a quick supper and ordered two burgers, plus one small fries. (We only had about $18. cash on us). The fries are horrible. Frozen, dry, taste like baked... The burgers - Oversize untoasted buns, decent size typical frozen burger with no flavor apart from the salt they shook on them, fried onions - hmph, maybe 5 small strips of slightly cooked onion. One piece of wilted lettuce, a hard to find stingy smear of mayo, one thin slice of tomatoe. 79 cents extra for a slice of Kraft processed cheese. So two rather miserable burgers and one really awful fries and the bill was around $16. Oh yeah - CASH ONLY. Also, the wait is - well, a WAIT. Fast food it is not. Not recommended unless you are desperately hungry and can't wait to get somewhere else. No indoor seating. It's the picnic tables or your car.
